Bowman breaks through at Chicagoland
Following a wild race at Chicagoland Speedway that saw a little bit of everything, including a rain delay, it was Alex Bowman who was the last man standing to collect the first checkered flag in his Cup Series career.
Bowman had a duel with Kyle Larson for the final 15 laps with the two trading paint and swapping positions but Bowman eventually prevailed with Larson finishing second, followed by Joey Logano, Jimmie Johnson and Brad Keselowski.
The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series heads to Daytona International Speedway for some Saturday night racing on July 6 in the Coke Zero Sugar 400 and Denny Hamlin looks to complete the season sweep after winning the Daytona 500 in February.
