Recap - Rice Defeats UC-Santa Barbara 82-81
Rice grabbed a 82-81 win over UC-Santa Barbara on Saturday, behind a 18-point effort from Payton Moore at Thunderdome.
Rice was a +9.5-point underdog in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters.
Rice got 18 points from Trey Murphy III and another 12 points from Chris Mullins. Drew Peterson contributed 6 assists, while Robert Martin cleaned the glass with 10 rebounds.
UC-Santa Barbara got 21 points from Max Heidegger in a losing cause and another 19 points from Amadou Sow. Matt Freeman contributed 7 assists for them, while Amadou Sow had 7 rebounds.
Rice was losing at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Rice won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 28-27.
Rice looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Houston. UC-Santa Barbara will aim to get back on the winning track at Oregon State.
