Coppin State grabbed a 64-56 win over Howard on Monday, behind a 16-point effort from Koby Thomas at Burr Arena.
Coppin State got 15 points from Brendan Medley-Bacon and another 12 points from Andrew Robinson. Ibn Williams contributed 5 assists, while Brendan Medley-Bacon cleaned the glass with 12 rebounds.
Howard got a 23-point performance from Charles Williams, who was supported by 12 points from Nate Garvey. Khalil Robinson had 7 assists in a losing cause for Howard, while Zion Cousins grabbed 11 rebounds.
Coppin State was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Coppin State won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 35-29.
Coppin State looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the North Carolina Central. Howard will aim to get back on the winning track at Florida A&M.
