Belmont got 21 points from JaCobi Wood as they ran past Howard 95-78 on Thursday at Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
Belmont got 20 points from Luke Smith and another 15 points from Nick Muszynski. Grayson Murphy contributed 7 assists, while Grayson Murphy cleaned the glass with 13 rebounds.
Howard got 14 points from Thomas Weaver in a losing cause and another 12 points from Steve Settle III. Thomas Weaver contributed 5 assists for them, while Makur Maker had 8 rebounds.
Belmont was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Belmont won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 38-34.
Belmont looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the George Mason. Howard will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Queens.
