Cal Poly Falls 76-69 Against Santa Clara - Game Recap

Josip Vrankic scored 17 points leading Santa Clara to a 76-69 victory over Cal Poly at Robert A. Mott Gym on Wednesday.

Santa Clara won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -9.0-point spread.

Miguel Tomley had 15 points for Santa Clara and Keshawn Justice chipped in with 14 points. Keshawn Justice had 3 assists for them, while Josip Vrankic was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 14 boards.

Cal Poly got 16 points from Kobe Sanders in a losing cause and another 16 points from Alimamy Koroma. Brantly Stevenson contributed 4 assists for them, while Dyson Koehler had 6 rebounds.

Santa Clara was losing at the break before taking care of business in the second half.

Santa Clara won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 39-33.

Next game, Santa Clara takes its act home to face Sacramento State looking for another win. For Cal Poly, they head home to face San Jose State.
