South Alabama grabbed a 68-67 win over San Diego on Thursday, behind a 21-point effort from Jay Jay Chandler at Orleans Arena.
South Alabama won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the +2.0-point spread as underdogs.
South Alabama got 21 points from Charles Manning Jr. and another 8 points from Lance Thomas. Charles Manning Jr. contributed 5 assists, while Diante Smith cleaned the glass with 7 rebounds.
San Diego got a 25-point performance from Jase Townsend, who was supported by 10 points from Joey Calcaterra. Bryce Monroe had 5 assists in a losing cause for San Diego, while Vladimir Pinchuk grabbed 12 rebounds.
