UTSA Falls 68-50 to UTRGV - Recap
Marek Nelson scored 13 points leading UTRGV to a 68-50 victory over UTSA at UTSA Convocation Center on Friday.
UTRGV won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the +3.0-point spread as underdogs.
UTRGV got 12 points from BJ Simmons and another 11 points from Xavier Johnson. Justin Johnson contributed 4 assists, while RayQuan Taylor cleaned the glass with 9 rebounds.
UTSA got 16 points from Jacob Germany in a losing cause and another 15 points from Cedrick Alley Jr.. Erik Czumbel contributed 4 assists for them, while Jacob Germany had 9 rebounds.
UTRGV had a 44-41 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
Next game, UTRGV takes its act home to face Southwest Adventist looking for another win. For UTSA, they head on the road to face Illinois State.
