Canisius Defeats Rider 70-69 - Recap

Canisius grabbed a 70-69 win over Rider on Friday, behind a 21-point effort from Scott Hitchon at Koessler Athletic Center.

Canisius earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the -3.5-point spread.

Canisius got 15 points from Ahamadou Fofana and another 13 points from Jacco Fritz. Jordan Henderson contributed 4 assists, while Scott Hitchon cleaned the glass with 6 rebounds.

Rider got a 27-point performance from Dwight Murray, Jr., who was supported by 12 points from Ajiri Ogemuno-Johnson. Dwight Murray, Jr. had 7 assists in a losing cause for Rider, while Dwight Murray, Jr. grabbed 11 rebounds.

Canisius was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.

Rider had a 35-32 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.

Canisius looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Saint Peter's. Rider will aim to get back on the winning track at Niagara.
