Brown Defeats Cornell 81-80 - Recap

Brown grabbed a 81-80 win over Cornell on Saturday, behind a 16-point effort from Jaylan Gainey at Newman Arena at Bartels Hall.

Brown won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the +1.5-point spread as underdogs.

David Mitchell had 12 points for Brown and Dan Friday chipped in with 11 points. Kimo Ferrari had 4 assists for them, while Tamenang Choh was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 15 boards.

Cornell got a 17-point performance from Chris Manon, who was supported by 14 points from Kobe Dickson. Dean Noll had 6 assists in a losing cause for Cornell, while Chris Manon grabbed 7 rebounds.

First-half bettors who backed Brown were victorious, as the score was 49-42 at the break.

Brown won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 38-30.

Next game, Brown takes its act home to face Princeton looking for another win. For Cornell, they head on the road to face Dartmouth.
