Duke grabbed a 65-61 win over Virginia on Wednesday, behind a 15-point effort from Jeremy Roach at John Paul Jones Arena.
Duke won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -5.5-point spread.
AJ Griffin had 13 points for Duke and Trevor Keels chipped in with 13 points. Paolo Banchero had 5 assists for them, while Mark Williams was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 10 boards.
Virginia got 25 points from Kihei Clark in a losing cause and another 16 points from Jayden Gardner. Kihei Clark contributed 7 assists for them, while Reece Beekman had 7 rebounds.
Duke led at halftime, 30-26.
Duke won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 31-30.
Duke looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Syracuse. Virginia will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Florida State.
