South Alabama Falls 65-52 to Tarleton State - Recap

South Alabama was burned for 27 points by Montre Gipson on Friday as Tarleton State picked up a 65-52 win at Wisdom Gymnasium.

Tarleton State was a +1.5-point underdog in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters.

Tahj Small had 16 points for Tarleton State and Shakur Daniel chipped in with 9 points. Freddy Hicks had 4 assists for them, while Tahj Small was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 12 boards.

South Alabama got 23 points from Jay Jay Chandler in a losing cause and another 12 points from Alex Anderson. Alex Anderson contributed 3 assists for them, while Kayo Goncalves had 8 rebounds.

Tarleton State was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.

Tarleton State won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 31-25.

Tarleton State looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Air Force. South Alabama will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Southern Illinois-Edwardsville.
