Western Carolina Falls 74-65 to Samford - Recap
Samford grabbed a 74-65 win over Western Carolina on Saturday, behind a 20-point effort from Ques Glover at Pete Hanna Center.
Samford did not, however, defeat Western Carolina against the spread, which closed at -9.5 at most sportsbooks.
Samford got 14 points from Jermaine Marshall and another 12 points from Bubba Parham. Jaron Rillie contributed 2 assists, while Jermaine Marshall cleaned the glass with 12 rebounds.
Western Carolina got a 18-point performance from Vonterius Woolbright, who was supported by 17 points from Tyzhaun Claude. Vonterius Woolbright had 5 assists in a losing cause for Western Carolina, while Tyzhaun Claude grabbed 6 rebounds.
Samford was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Samford won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 31-25.
Next game, Samford takes its act on the road to face Furman looking for another win. For Western Carolina, they head home to face The Citadel.
