Manhattan grabbed a 73-72 win over Fairfield on Sunday, behind a 24-point effort from Ant Nelson at Leo D. Mahoney Arena.
Manhattan won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the +4.5-point spread as underdogs.
Manhattan got 12 points from Marques Watson and another 9 points from Adam Cisse. Ant Nelson contributed 5 assists, while Josh Roberts cleaned the glass with 11 rebounds.
Fairfield got 23 points from TJ Long in a losing cause and another 17 points from Supreme Cook. Caleb Fields contributed 4 assists for them, while Supreme Cook had 17 rebounds.
Manhattan led at halftime, 35-28.
Fairfield won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 33-25.
Next game, Manhattan takes its act home to face Marist looking for another win. For Fairfield, they head on the road to face Niagara.
