Tarleton State Defeats Southern Utah 88-83 - Recap
Jakorie Smith scored 22 points leading Tarleton State to a 88-83 victory over Southern Utah at America First Event Center on Saturday.
Tarleton State did not, however, defeat Southern Utah against the spread, which closed at -5.5 at most sportsbooks.
Tarleton State got 18 points from KiAndre Gaddy and another 15 points from Lue Williams. Adam Moussa contributed 6 assists, while KiAndre Gaddy cleaned the glass with 8 rebounds.
Southern Utah got a 29-point performance from Zion Young, who was supported by 16 points from Dominique Ford. Robert Jeter had 4 assists in a losing cause for Southern Utah, while Chazz Hutchison grabbed 9 rebounds.
Tarleton State was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Tarleton State heads into a battle against Utah Valley. Southern Utah, meanwhile, will have their next action against Stephen F. Austin.
