Western Carolina Defeats Vanderbilt 63-62 - Recap

Vonterius Woolbright scored 22 points and chipped in with 12 rebounds for Western Carolina on Tuesday, leading them to a 63-62 victory over Vanderbilt at Memorial Gym.

Western Carolina won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the +3.5-point spread as underdogs.

Western Carolina got 16 points from Russell Jones Jr and another 12 points from DJ Campbell. DJ Campbell contributed 3 assists, while Vonterius Woolbright cleaned the glass with 12 rebounds.

Vanderbilt got a 18-point performance from Ezra Manjon, who was supported by 10 points from Tyrin Lawrence. Ezra Manjon had 2 assists in a losing cause for Vanderbilt, while Carter Lang grabbed 8 rebounds.

Western Carolina led at halftime, 30-26.

Vanderbilt had a 37-36 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.

Western Carolina looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Brescia. Vanderbilt will aim to get back on the winning track at Memphis.
