Mercer Bears vs Chicago State Cougars Wrap - Mercer Wins 66-61
Robby Carmody scored 18 points leading Mercer to a 66-61 victory over Chicago State at Jones Convocation Center on Thursday.
Mercer got 18 points from Jalyn McCreary and another 9 points from Jake Davis. Caleb Hunter contributed 3 assists, while Amanze Ngumezi cleaned the glass with 9 rebounds.
Chicago State got a 17-point performance from Wesley Cardet Jr., who was supported by 16 points from Jahsean Corbett. Wesley Cardet Jr. had 5 assists in a losing cause for Chicago State, while Jahsean Corbett grabbed 10 rebounds.
Mercer was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Chicago State won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 33-31.
Mercer looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Morehead State. Chicago State will aim to get back on the winning track at Southern Indiana.
