The battle between USC Upstate and Coker didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Coker was handed a 96-76 defeat on Saturday at G.B. Hodge Center.
USC Upstate got 20 points from Jordyn Surratt and another 18 points from Nick Alves. Jalen Breazeale contributed 4 assists, while Jordyn Surratt cleaned the glass with 7 rebounds.
Coker got 20 points from Mahmoud Bangura in a losing cause and another 9 points from Demar Anderson. Andre Leavell contributed 6 assists for them, while Mahmoud Bangura had 4 rebounds.
USC Upstate was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
USC Upstate won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 31-29.
