The battle between Northwestern State and Incarnate Word didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Incarnate Word was handed a 81-61 defeat on Saturday at Alice P. McDermott Convocation Center.
Northwestern State got 18 points from Jae Slack and another 15 points from Chase Forte. Cliff Davis contributed 3 assists, while Chase Forte cleaned the glass with 7 rebounds.
Incarnate Word got a 20-point performance from Alex Anderson, who was supported by 9 points from Sky Wicks. Elijah Davis had 2 assists in a losing cause for Incarnate Word, while Sky Wicks grabbed 7 rebounds.
Northwestern State was losing at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Incarnate Word won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 34-26.
