The battle between Washington State and Rhode Island didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Rhode Island was handed a 78-57 defeat on Sunday at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Washington State was a -6.5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters.
Washington State got 21 points from Isaac Jones and another 13 points from Kymany Houinsou. Isaac Jones contributed 5 assists, while Jaylen Wells cleaned the glass with 7 rebounds.
Rhode Island got 19 points from Zek Montgomery in a losing cause and another 13 points from Luis Kortright. Luis Kortright contributed 3 assists for them, while Luis Kortright had 5 rebounds.
Washington State led at halftime, 39-33.
Washington State won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 33-23.
Washington State looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Dixie State. Rhode Island will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Johnson & Wales-RI.
