Georgia Southern Eagles vs LSU Tigers Wrap - LSU Wins 55-3

The battle between the Tigers and Eagles didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as Georgia Southern was handed a 55-3 defeat on Saturday at Tiger Stadium-LSU.

Bettors who backed the Tigers were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as a favorite of -27.0 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go OVER the closing total of 52.5.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire rushed for 45 yards, while Chris Curry added 23 yards in the win. Justin Jefferson and Thaddeus Moss added 87 and 61 receiving yards respectively.

Logan Wright rushed for 37 yards for Georgia Southern, while J.D. King added 23 yards. Justin Tomlin threw for 24 yards for the Eagles, while receivers Khaleb Hood and Cam Brown had 12 and 10 yards respectively.

LSU outgained Georgia Southern 472-98 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 22-8 by the Tigers.

LSU led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 31:28-28:32 split in that important category.

Next game, LSU takes its act on the road to face Texas looking for another win. For Georgia Southern, they head home to face Maine.
