49ers Fall 53-19 Against Duke - Game Recap
Mataeo Durant scampered through the Charlotte defense for 104 yards as Duke handed the 49ers a 53-19 defeat on Saturday at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium.
The Blue Devils were a -11.5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 55.0.
Mataeo Durant rushed for 104 yards, while Deon Jackson added 101 yards in the win. Jalon Calhoun and Jarett Garner added 36 and 28 receiving yards respectively.
Tre Harbison III rushed for 57 yards for Charlotte, while Victor Tucker added 43 yards. Chris Reynolds threw for 171 yards for the 49ers, while receivers Micaleous Elder and Taylor Thompson had 86 and 28 yards respectively.
Charlotte lost the offensive yardage battle to Duke 401-348 yards in Saturday's game. Charlotte had more first downs as that total ended up 22-16.
Duke lost the time of possession battle 42:27-17:33, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Duke heads into a Week 10 battle against North Carolina. Charlotte, meanwhile, will have their next action against Middle Tennessee.
