Purdue Defeats Illinois 31-24 - Recap

Aidan O'Connell was good for 376 yards through the air on Saturday as the Boilermakers got past the Fighting Illini by a score of 31-24 at Memorial Stadium.

Bettors who backed the Boilermakers were disappointed, as they failed to cover the closing number of -10.0. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go OVER the closing total of 54.5.

Aidan O'Connell completed 29 of 35 pass attempts for 376 yards for the Boilermakers in the win.

Chase Brown rushed for 73 yards for Illinois, while Mike Epstein added 63 yards. Coran Taylor threw for 273 yards for the Fighting Illini, while receivers Brian Hightower and Daniel Barker had 97 and 74 yards respectively.

Purdue lost the offensive yardage battle to Illinois 472-454 yards in Saturday's game. Illinois had more first downs as that total ended up 28-26.

Purdue led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 30:38-28:28 split in that important category.

Next game, Purdue takes its act on the road to face Wisconsin looking for another win. For Illinois, they head home to face Minnesota.
