Campbell Falls 27-26 to Eagles - Recap

Shai Werts ran for 155 yards as Georgia Southern handled Campbell by a score of 27-26 on Saturday at Allen E. Paulson Stadium.

The Eagles won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -27.5-point spread. UNDER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an UNDER play.

Shai Werts rushed for 155 yards, while J.D. King added 74 yards in the win. D.J. Butler and Malik Murray added 22 and 18 receiving yards respectively.

Hajj-Malik Williams rushed for 73 yards for Campbell, while C.J. Freeman added 39 yards. Hajj-Malik Williams threw for 237 yards for the Fighting Camels, while receivers Jai Williams and Jalen Kelsey had 72 and 66 yards respectively.

Georgia Southern lost the offensive yardage battle to Campbell 369-346 yards in Saturday's game. Georgia Southern had more first downs as that total ended up 20-17.

The time of possession battle favored Georgia Southern as their offense was on the field for 33:49, longer than the 26:04 of their opponents.

Next game, Georgia Southern takes its act home to face Florida Atlantic looking for another win. For Campbell, they head on the road to face Coastal Carolina.
