Syracuse Falls 17-7 to Scarlet Knights - Recap

The Orange came up short against the Scarlet Knights in Week 2 action on Saturday, falling 17-7 at Carrier Dome.

Rutgers was the ATS victor, as they covered the -2.5-point spread as a favorite. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 51.0 were rewarded at the payout window.

Isaih Pacheco rushed for 44 yards, while Kyle Monangai added 20 yards in the win. Bo Melton and Jovani Haskins added 44 and 38 receiving yards respectively.

Sean Tucker rushed for 54 yards for Syracuse, while Tommy DeVito added 13 yards. Tommy DeVito threw for 149 yards for the Orange, while receivers Taj Harris and Sean Tucker had 122 and 27 yards respectively.

Syracuse outgained Rutgers 258-195 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 16-14 by the Scarlet Knights.

Syracuse lost the time of possession battle 35:56-24:04, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Rutgers looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Delaware. Syracuse will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Albany-NY.
