Golden Eagles Fall 38-14 Against North Texas - Game Recap

Isaiah Johnson scampered through the Southern Miss defense for 119 yards as North Texas handed the Golden Eagles a 38-14 defeat on Saturday at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at M.M. Roberts Stadium.

The Mean Green were a -5.0-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 49.0.

Isaiah Johnson rushed for 119 yards, while Ikaika Ragsdale added 112 yards in the win. Detraveon Brown and Jason Pirtle added 85 and 48 receiving yards respectively.

Frank Gore, Jr. rushed for 82 yards for Southern Miss, while Dajon Richard added 48 yards. Jake Lange threw for 116 yards for the Golden Eagles, while receivers Jason Brownlee and Demarcus Jones had 53 and 49 yards respectively.

North Texas outgained Southern Miss 537-229 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 25-11 by the Mean Green.

The time of possession battle favored North Texas as their offense was on the field for 34:14, longer than the 25:46 of their opponents.

Next game, North Texas takes its act home to face UTEP looking for another win. For Southern Miss, they head on the road to face UTSA.
