Appalachian State Falls 63-61 to Tar Heels - Recap

Drake Maye's 352-yard performance through the air was the key in North Carolina's 63-61 win over Appalachian State on Saturday at Kidd Brewer Stadium.

Nate Noel rushed for 116 yards for Appalachian State, while Camerun Peoples added 65 yards. Chase Brice threw for 361 yards for the Mountaineers, while receivers Dashaun Davis and Christan Horn had 72 and 59 yards respectively.

North Carolina was outgained by Appalachian State 649-567 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 38-30 by the Mountaineers.

Appalachian State lost the time of possession battle 27:57-27:18, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
