Tar Heels Fall 45-32 Against Notre Dame - Game Recap
The Tar Heels had no answer for Audric Estime on Saturday as the Fighting Irish rolled to a 45-32 win at Kenan Memorial Stadium.
Notre Dame won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the +2.5-point spread as underdogs. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 56.0.
Audric Estime rushed for 134 yards, while Chris Tyree added 80 yards in the win. Michael Mayer and Lorenzo Styles added 88 and 69 receiving yards respectively.
Drake Maye rushed for 36 yards for North Carolina, while Omarion Hampton added 28 yards. Drake Maye threw for 301 yards for the Tar Heels, while receivers Antoine Green and J.J. Jones had 150 and 71 yards respectively.
North Carolina lost the offensive yardage battle to Notre Dame 576-367 yards in Saturday's game. Notre Dame had more first downs as that total ended up 35-18.
The time of possession battle favored Notre Dame as their offense was on the field for 38:13, longer than the 21:47 of their opponents.
Next game, Notre Dame takes its act on the road to face BYU looking for another win. For North Carolina, they head home to face Virginia Tech.
