Duke Defeats Virginia 38-17 - Recap
Virginia couldn't hang with the Blue Devils on Saturday as Duke blasted the Cavaliers 38-17 in Week 5 action at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium.
Duke won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -2.0-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 54.5.
Jaylen Coleman rushed for 97 yards, while Jaquez Moore added 67 yards in the win. Jalon Calhoun and Nicky Dalmolin added 65 and 36 receiving yards respectively.
Perris Jones rushed for 41 yards for Virginia, while Brennan Armstrong added 23 yards. Brennan Armstrong threw for 202 yards for the Cavaliers, while receivers Keytaon Thompson and Dontayvion Wicks had 61 and 51 yards respectively.
Virginia was outgained by Duke 377-295 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 26-19 by the Blue Devils.
Duke led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 36:30-23:30 split in that important category.
Next game, Duke takes its act on the road to face Georgia Tech looking for another win. For Virginia, they head home to face Louisville.
