Recap - Bearcats Defeat USF 28-24
Charles McClelland scampered through the USF defense for 179 yards as Cincinnati handed the Bulls a 28-24 defeat on Saturday at Nippert Stadium.
Cincinnati did not, however, defeat the Bulls against the spread, which closed at -27.0 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 59.0.
Charles McClelland rushed for 179 yards, while Ryan Montgomery added 22 yards in the win. Tre Tucker and Jadon Thompson added 64 and 40 receiving yards respectively.
Gerry Bohanon rushed for 117 yards for USF, while Brian Battie added 82 yards. Gerry Bohanon threw for 139 yards for the Bulls, while receivers Xavier Weaver and Khafre Brown had 112 and 16 yards respectively.
Cincinnati outgained USF 414-363 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 22-19 by the Bearcats.
The time of possession battle favored USF as their offense was on the field for 32:29, longer than the 27:31 of their opponents.
Next game, Cincinnati takes its act on the road to face SMU looking for another win. For USF, they head home to face Tulane.
