Houston Falls 77-63 to Mustangs - Recap

Tanner Mordecai threw for 379 yards to lead the Mustangs over Houston 77-63 on Saturday in Week 10 action at Gerald J. Ford Stadium.

SMU won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -3.5-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 65.0.

Tanner Mordecai completed 28 of 37 pass attempts for 379 yards for the Mustangs in the win.

Clayton Tune rushed for 111 yards for Houston, while Stacy Sneed added 71 yards. Clayton Tune threw for 527 yards for the Cougars, while receivers Nathaniel Dell and KeSean Carter had 180 and 136 yards respectively.

SMU was outgained by Houston 710-642 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 34-31 by the Cougars.

Houston lost the time of possession battle 31:32-28:28, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Next game, SMU takes its act on the road to face USF looking for another win. For Houston, they head home to face Temple.
