Recap - Golden Flashes Defeat Akron 33-27

Marquez Cooper ran for 137 yards as Kent State handled Akron by a score of 33-27 on Saturday at Dix Stadium.

The Golden Flashes earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the -16.0-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 65.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.

Marquez Cooper rushed for 137 yards, while Bryan Bradford added 63 yards in the win. Devontez Walker and Ja'Shaun Poke added 72 and 51 receiving yards respectively.

Clyde Price III rushed for 41 yards for Akron, while DJ Irons added 37 yards. DJ Irons threw for 383 yards for the Zips, while receivers Alex Adams and Shocky Jacques-Louis had 199 and 88 yards respectively.

Kent State was outgained by Akron 492-455 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 28-22 by the Zips.

Akron led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 35:46-24:14 split in that important category.

Kent State heads into a Week 10 battle against Ball State. Akron, meanwhile, will have their next action against Miami-OH.
