Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders vs UTEP Miners Recap - Blue Raiders Win 24-13
Middle Tennessee won 24-13 on Saturday against UTEP behind a 147-yard receiving performance from Jaylin Lane at Sun Bowl.
The Blue Raiders were a +2.5-point underdog in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 52.0.
Frank Peasant rushed for 96 yards, while Darius Bracy added 12 yards in the win. Jaylin Lane and Jeremy Tate Jr added 147 and 33 receiving yards respectively.
Deion Hankins rushed for 68 yards for UTEP, while Ronald Awatt added 48 yards. Gavin Hardison threw for 177 yards for the Miners, while receivers Tyrin Smith and Reynaldo Flores had 117 and 31 yards respectively.
UTEP lost the offensive yardage battle to Middle Tennessee 378-292 yards in Saturday's game. Middle Tennessee had more first downs as that total ended up 20-19.
UTEP led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 32:33-27:27 split in that important category.
Middle Tennessee looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against LA Tech. UTEP will aim to get back on the winning track at Rice.
