Recap - Cougars Defeat SMU 24-23
The Mustangs came up short against the Cougars in Week P action on Saturday, falling 24-23 at University Stadium.
BYU was the ATS victor, as they covered the +4.5-point spread as an underdog. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 65.5 were rewarded at the payout window.
Sol-Jay Maiava-Peters rushed for 96 yards, while Christopher Brooks added 88 yards in the win. Isaac Rex and Brayden Cosper added 27 and 12 receiving yards respectively.
Tyler Lavine rushed for 91 yards for SMU, while Roderick Daniels Jr. added 59 yards. Tanner Mordecai threw for 218 yards for the Mustangs, while receivers Moochie Dixon and Roderick Daniels Jr. had 60 and 54 yards respectively.
BYU lost the offensive yardage battle to SMU 389-256 yards in Saturday's game. SMU had more first downs as that total ended up 29-16.
The time of possession battle favored BYU as their offense was on the field for 31:35, longer than the 28:25 of their opponents.
