BYU Defeats Sam Houston State 14-0 - Recap

Sam Houston State was shut out 14-0 on Saturday, stymied by a BYU defense that led the team to victory at LaVell Edwards Stadium.

The Cougars won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -19.5-point spread. UNDER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an UNDER play.

LJ Martin rushed for 91 yards, while Aidan Robbins added 23 yards in the win. Darius Lassiter and Chase Roberts added 43 and 42 receiving yards respectively.

John Gentry rushed for 19 yards for Sam Houston State, while Keegan Shoemaker added 13 yards. Keegan Shoemaker threw for 147 yards for the Bearkats, while receivers Noah Smith and Ife Adeyi had 44 and 28 yards respectively.

Sam Houston State lost the offensive yardage battle to BYU 257-185 yards in Saturday's game. BYU had more first downs as that total ended up 12-11.

Sam Houston State lost the time of possession battle 31:33-28:27, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

BYU looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Southern Utah. Sam Houston State will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Air Force.
