Michigan Defeats East Carolina 30-3 - Recap
East Carolina couldn't hang with the Wolverines on Saturday as Michigan blasted the Pirates 30-3 in Week 1 action at Michigan Stadium.
The Wolverines won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -35.5-point spread. UNDER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an UNDER play.
Blake Corum rushed for 73 yards, while Donovan Edwards added 37 yards in the win. Roman Wilson and Cornelius Johnson added 78 and 71 receiving yards respectively.
Mason Garcia rushed for 36 yards for East Carolina, while Rahjai Harris added 22 yards. Alex Flinn threw for 52 yards for the Pirates, while receivers Javious Bond and Jaylen Johnson had 31 and 30 yards respectively.
East Carolina lost the offensive yardage battle to Michigan 402-235 yards in Saturday's game. Michigan had more first downs as that total ended up 26-12.
East Carolina lost the time of possession battle 33:26-26:34, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Michigan looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against UNLV. East Carolina will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Marshall.
