Wake Forest Falls 17-12 to Tigers - Recap

Clemson earned a 17-12 victory over Wake Forest on Saturday in Week 6 action at Memorial Stadium.

Clemson won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -21.0-point spread. The game went UNDER the consensus closing total of 54.0.

Will Shipley rushed for 97 yards, while Phil Mafah added 63 yards in the win. Beaux Collins and Jake Briningstool added 50 and 30 receiving yards respectively.

Demond Claiborne rushed for 60 yards for Wake Forest, while Mitch Griffis added 25 yards. Mitch Griffis threw for 137 yards for the Demon Deacons, while receivers Jahmal Banks and Wesley Grimes had 55 and 41 yards respectively.

Wake Forest lost the offensive yardage battle to Clemson 338-239 yards in Saturday's game. Clemson had more first downs as that total ended up 19-18.

The time of possession battle favored Clemson as their offense was on the field for 31:21, longer than the 28:39 of their opponents.

Next game, Clemson takes its act on the road to face Miami-FL looking for another win. For Wake Forest, they head on the road to face Virginia Tech.
