NIU Huskies vs Kent State Golden Flashes Wrap - NIU Wins 37-27
NIU got a 103-yard performance from Gavin Williams as a key part of its 37-27 victory over the Golden Flashes on Saturday at Dix Stadium.
NIU did not, however, defeat the Golden Flashes against the spread, which closed at -20.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 45.0.
Gavin Williams rushed for 103 yards, while Antario Brown added 89 yards in the win. Kyle Thomas and Dane Pardridge added 45 and 44 receiving yards respectively.
Gavin Garcia rushed for 84 yards for Kent State, while Jaylen Thomas added 22 yards. Devin Kargman threw for 237 yards for the Golden Flashes, while receivers Jameel Gardner Jr. and Luke Floriea had 111 and 83 yards respectively.
Kent State lost the offensive yardage battle to NIU 426-366 yards in Saturday's game. Kent State had more first downs as that total ended up 18-17.
The time of possession battle favored Kent State as their offense was on the field for 29:53, longer than the 29:51 of their opponents.
