BYU Defeats St. Mary's 81-79 - Recap
TJ Haws scored 23 points leading BYU to a 81-79 victory over St. Mary's at Marriott Center on Saturday.
BYU did not, however, defeat St. Mary's against the spread, which closed at -6.0 at most sportsbooks.
BYU got 19 points from Yoeli Childs and another 9 points from Dalton Nixon. Jake Toolson contributed 8 assists, while Zac Seljaas cleaned the glass with 7 rebounds.
St. Mary's got 29 points from Malik Fitts in a losing cause and another 18 points from Jordan Ford. Jordan Ford contributed 4 assists for them, while Malik Fitts had 8 rebounds.
BYU was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
St. Mary's won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 26-22.
