Richmond Defeats George Washington 73-70 - Recap
Richmond got 19 points from Blake Francis en route to a 73-70 victory over George Washington on Wednesday at Charles E. Smith Center.
Richmond did not, however, defeat George Washington against the spread, which closed at -7.5 at most sportsbooks.
Richmond got 15 points from Nick Sherod and another 12 points from Grant Golden. Grant Golden contributed 8 assists, while Nathan Cayo cleaned the glass with 9 rebounds.
George Washington got 17 points from Maceo Jack in a losing cause and another 17 points from Armel Potter. Armel Potter contributed 12 assists for them, while Jameer Nelson Jr. had 8 rebounds.
Richmond had a 35-33 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
Richmond heads into a battle against UMass. George Washington, meanwhile, will have their next action against VCU.
