Monmouth was run off the court by Iona on Saturday as they blasted them 88-65 at Hynes Athletics Center.
Iona won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -1.5-point spread as favorites.
Iona got 31 points from Isaiah Ross and another 15 points from Asante Gist. Dylan van Eyck contributed 5 assists, while Osborn Shema cleaned the glass with 10 rebounds.
Monmouth got a 16-point performance from Deion Hammond, who was supported by 11 points from Melik Martin. George Papas had 3 assists in a losing cause for Monmouth, while Melik Martin grabbed 6 rebounds.
Iona was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Iona won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 42-25.
Iona looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Marist. Monmouth will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Fairfield.
