Richmond grabbed a 80-72 win over UMass on Wednesday, behind a 17-point effort from Jacob Gilyard at Robins Center.
Richmond won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -10.5-point spread.
Richmond got 14 points from Nathan Cayo and another 12 points from Tyler Burton. Jacob Gilyard contributed 10 assists, while Tyler Burton cleaned the glass with 13 rebounds.
UMass got 20 points from Rich Kelly in a losing cause and another 16 points from C.J. Kelly. Rich Kelly contributed 5 assists for them, while Michael Steadman had 9 rebounds.
Richmond was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
