Elon got 19 points from Jerald Gillens-Butler as they ran past Stony Brook 69-55 on Thursday at Island Federal Credit Union Arena.
Elon won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the +2.5-point spread as underdogs.
Elon got 15 points from Max Mackinnon and another 13 points from Sam Sherry. Sean Halloran contributed 7 assists, while Max Mackinnon cleaned the glass with 8 rebounds.
Stony Brook got 14 points from Toby Onyekonwu in a losing cause and another 13 points from Frankie Policelli. Kaine Roberts contributed 4 assists for them, while Frankie Policelli had 7 rebounds.
Elon led at halftime, 46-23.
Elon won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 34-26.
Next game, Elon takes its act on the road to face Northeastern looking for another win. For Stony Brook, they head on the road to face Hofstra.
