Gardner-Webb got 11 points from DQ Nicholas and another 9 points from Kareem Reid. Lucas Stieber contributed 7 assists, while Kareem Reid cleaned the glass with 5 rebounds.
Winthrop got a 19-point performance from Sin'Cere McMahon, who was supported by 14 points from Cory Hightower. Kasen Harrison had 3 assists in a losing cause for Winthrop, while Kelton Talford grabbed 16 rebounds.
