Dayton Defeats Loyola-Chicago 65-49 - Recap

DaRon Holmes II scored 20 points and chipped in with 10 rebounds for Dayton on Friday, leading them to a 65-49 victory over Loyola-Chicago at Joseph J. Gentile Center.

Dayton won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -6.5-point spread as favorites.

Dayton got 17 points from Toumani Camara and another 8 points from Mike Sharavjamts. Kobe Elvis contributed 7 assists, while DaRon Holmes II cleaned the glass with 10 rebounds.

Loyola-Chicago got a 16-point performance from Philip Alston, who was supported by 9 points from Marquise Kennedy. Braden Norris had 2 assists in a losing cause for Loyola-Chicago, while Bryce Golden grabbed 5 rebounds.

Dayton was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.

Dayton had a 37-24 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.

Dayton looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the UMass. Loyola-Chicago will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Fordham.
