Virginia got 17 points from Reece Beekman en route to a 70-61 victory over Illinois on Sunday at T-Mobile Arena.
Virginia was the ATS victor, as they covered the +2.5-point spread as an underdog.
Jayden Gardner had 12 points for Virginia and Kihei Clark chipped in with 12 points. Reece Beekman had 3 assists for them, while Ben Vander Plas was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 10 boards.
Illinois got 14 points from Jayden Epps in a losing cause and another 10 points from Coleman Hawkins. Terrence Shannon Jr. contributed 6 assists for them, while Dain Dainja had 6 rebounds.
Virginia was losing at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Virginia won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 36-28.
Next game, Virginia takes its act home to face Maryland-Eastern Shore looking for another win. For Illinois, they head home to face Lindenwood.
