McNeese State cruised to victory on Monday, running Houston Baptist out of the gym and running up a 105-54 score at Sharp Gymnasium.
McNeese State got 16 points from DJ Richards Jr. and another 13 points from Shahada Wells. Shahada Wells contributed 6 assists, while Christian Shumate cleaned the glass with 10 rebounds.
Houston Baptist got 15 points from Marcus Greene in a losing cause and another 15 points from Dominic Capriotti. Bonke Maring contributed 3 assists for them, while Tristan Moore had 10 rebounds.
McNeese State led at halftime, 58-28.
McNeese State had a 37-33 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
