The battle between Texas Tech and Vanderbilt didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Vanderbilt was handed a 76-54 defeat on Saturday at Dickies Arena.
Texas Tech was a -7.5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters.
Texas Tech got 19 points from Pop Isaacs and another 14 points from Chance McMillian. Pop Isaacs contributed 7 assists, while Joe Toussaint cleaned the glass with 7 rebounds.
Vanderbilt got 15 points from Ven-Allen Lubin in a losing cause and another 8 points from Tyrin Lawrence. Ezra Manjon contributed 5 assists for them, while Malik Presley had 5 rebounds.
Texas Tech was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Texas Tech had a 36-26 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
Next game, Texas Tech takes its act home to face Texas-Arlington looking for another win. For Vanderbilt, they head home to face Western Carolina.
