Youngstown State Penguins vs IUPUI Jaguars Wrap - Youngstown State Wins 78-50
The battle between Youngstown State and IUPUI didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as IUPUI was handed a 78-50 defeat on Thursday at Indiana Farmers Coliseum.
Youngstown State won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -14.0-point spread as favorites.
Youngstown State got 16 points from DJ Burns and another 16 points from Ziggy Reid. Brett Thompson contributed 4 assists, while DJ Burns cleaned the glass with 13 rebounds.
IUPUI got 11 points from Bryce Monroe in a losing cause and another 10 points from Jlynn Counter. Vincent Brady II contributed 2 assists for them, while Jlynn Counter had 5 rebounds.
Youngstown State was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Youngstown State won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 39-25.
Next game, Youngstown State takes its act home to face Northern Kentucky looking for another win. For IUPUI, they head home to face Wright State.
