Abdoulaye Thiam scored 22 points leading High Point to a 74-72 victory over Illinois State at Hertz Arena on Tuesday.
High Point was an underdog by +1.5 points and came through with an ATS victory for bettors.
High Point got 12 points from Trae Benham and another 11 points from Duke Miles. Kezza Giffa contributed 6 assists, while Trae Benham cleaned the glass with 10 rebounds.
Illinois State got 17 points from Darius Burford in a losing cause and another 14 points from Johnny Kinziger. Johnny Kinziger contributed 1 assists for them, while Brandon Lieb had 7 rebounds.
High Point led at halftime, 37-31.
High Point had a 33-23 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
Next game, High Point takes its act home to face Mount Olive looking for another win. For Illinois State, they head on the road to face UIC.
