Sparks Fall 81-52 Against Washington - Game Recap
The battle between the Mystics and Sparks didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as Los Angeles was handed a 81-52 defeat on Tuesday at STAPLES Center.
Washington won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the +1.5-point spread as underdogs. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 165.5.
Ariel Atkins had 22 points for Washington and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough chipped in with 17 points. Kristi Toliver had 9 assists for the Mystics, while Elena Delle Donne was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 15 boards.
The Sparks got a 12-point performance from Sydney Wiese, who was supported by 12 points from Nneka Ogwumike. Candace Parker had 3 assists in a losing cause for Los Angeles, while Chiney Ogwumike grabbed 7 rebounds.
Washington led at halftime, 48-27.
Los Angeles had a 38-36 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
